Fonts For Two Page Spread

I am going to use this to write Carter Hilton on the top of both pages. I chose this font because It looks really good and it is a big font which is perfect for what I need.

I used this font for the words I put around the main article. I used this font because it is a medium size font and it is kinda bold which makes it pop out to readers. 

I used this font for the article itself. This font was perfect for the article because it is a smaller font. This was the only font that you could actually read with how small the words are. 

I used this Font for the slogan I put on the bottom of the page. I used this font because it was the same font I used for the slogan on the title page, and I really like the way this font looks.

Picture Selection for Two Page Spread

These are the two images I will use on the two page spread. I feel like these images are best for what i need and are perfect. The one on the left I will use as the picture for the whole page. I really like this picture because it is more of an action shot. I feel like this is such a good picture I will make it very large to show the complete details of the picture. This picture makes you feel the energy that he has. Him screaming and throwing the ball in his glove makes the readers think he just made a really good play. I will use the picture on the right as a small picture right above the article. The reason I chose this picture is because it is a very serious picture. Putting this picture above the article creates a serious mood which sets the reader up to realize they are about to read a serious article. Both of these images are perfect for what I need them to do.

Final Article

Carter Hilton might just be the best baseball has ever seen. This young baseball phenom might be the next Babe Ruth. He is the highest prospect and is projected the #1 overall pick in the 2021 draft. Carter Hilton has broke countless records including the most home runs hit in a season, the most doubles hit in a season and most shutout innings pitched in a season. Carter had a stunning batting average in his previous season hitting 423. Not only was his batting average amazing his ERA and fielding percentage was quite amazing to. Carter had an ERA of 1.34 and a fielding percentage of 987. When Carter was asked what his favorite accomplishment in baseball was, he said it was the game he hit 3 home runs and pitched a complete game shut out. Aside from just his stats Carter likes to focus on the team more. When asked about the previous season, he stated "I feel like we need to work harder and fix the little things to become the best team we can be." Carter says the thing that he loves about baseball the most is that anything can happen whenever so you always have to be ready. Carters fuel to become the best ever is because he says "The thought of my teammates failing because of me makes me work harder and makes me want to be 10 times better." The success of carter is nowhere close to being over as he continues to work hard to be the best baseball has ever seen.

I feel like this article is perfect length and has plenty of information to create an interesting factual article about Carter.

Breakdown of magazine articles

Most baseball magazine articles I have read are short and sweet, meaning they get to the point right away and are not long and dragged out. I feel like this is very important and a good idea because if the article is shorter you might get more readers attention, and readers wont get bored with what they are reading. Most articles have a variety of facts in the such as ERA, batting average, Slugging percentage and fielding percentage. They include stats to make the articles more interesting and if you have stats or proof in your article people are more likely to believe what you are saying. In most baseball articles I have read and looked over they pick one player but also include how the team he is on is doing. Most articles do not only include stats but also include the players thoughts and point of view of whats going on in the baseball world. I am going to do my best to include this information into my article.

Planning For Two Page Spread

I really like the way that both of these magazines use one whole page as a picture of the player. I have to use two more pictures so I will use one whole page as a picture, and the other picture will go in the middle of the text. I really like the magazine on the right and how the title looks. I also like the way they put in the "padres" name in the background kinda hidden. On the magazine on the left I like how the image of the player is 3-D, if I figure out how to do that i am going to do that. I also like how the text is rapped around something. In my magazine instead of having the text rapped around another piece of text I will have it be rapped around an image. I also like how the title is across the entire two pages. I am going to try to incorporate as many as these as possible in my magazine.

I plan on my contents page using the same colors as my title page. I feel like the orange and black looks really good together and connects the magazine to the player and his team which is the main point in this magazine. However the background of the contents page is going to be kinda dark, so I am not sure if black text is going to be visible so i might have to use white instead. I am using a dark background so it makes the orange and white words pop out to the reader.

Fonts For Contents Page

On this page I am going to use 4 different types of font.

This is the text that i am going to use for the title of the page. This is the same font that I used on the title of the title page. 

I used this type of font as the subtitle. I used this because it looks really good. I have not used this font in my magazine yet so it is also something new. I feel like this is the best font for my magazine.

I am using this font for my article titles. I decided on this font because it looks really good and it is the same font that I used on the title page. I feel like if  I use them on both pages then it will bring the magazine together making it look better overall.

I used this font underneath the title because it is a smaller font and these words need to be very small. Also it looks really good. I feel like this font is the best fit for the job I need it to do.

Photo Editing For Contents Page

This is the image that I selected to be the background of my table of contents page. I used an app called photo editor to make this image just the way i like it. I made the image darker than the original photo by using this tool called transparency. Basically this tool makes the image darker and cast more of a shadow on the image than before. I also used a tool that makes specific areas darker. I used this to make the clay in the infield look really dark. Instead of the clay being more orange i made it look brown. I did this because the image is going to be used as a background and I am using orange and white text, so if the background is darker the words will show up better. Another thing I did was make the sky look more blue. The reason I did this was because no text is really going up there and i thought it looked better if it was more blue. The last thing I did was make the green grass just a tiny bit darker. I did all these edits to the photo to give the image the best look for my magazine.

Picture Selection For Contents Page 

For my contents page I am going to use the image on the left. The reason i am going to use this image is because it is a lot darker than the picture on the right. A darker picture is better for me because I am using colors like white and orange. The darker image will make the text pop out and show better. I also like the image on the left because of the shadow effect that is given. I like how the lower part of the image is darker than the top of the image. Another thing I like is how half of the sun is in the corner of the picture, that looks really good to me. However In the picture on the right I like how orange the clay is. The only problem with this is if I am using orange font then it is not going to show up as well. Overall the image on the left is the best selection for my magazine table of contents page.

Layouts of Contents Page 

I really like how the image on the page is the background and takes up the entire page. I also like the way the stories are listed on the page. However I do not like the spot they are placed in. In my magazine I will have all my stories to the left side of the page, in number order. If there is not enough room I will move some of the titles to the bottom of the page. I will also make a special place for the stories that are listed on the cover. I will use different size fonts for the titles and brief explanations. My entire background will be the image that I took.

Rough Draft analysis 

I like the title and how the words over lap making them look 3-D. I also like the slogan. I like where it is located and how it pops out to the reader. Another thing is I like the font and size of the slogan. The dark back ground makes half of my models face dark but the other side is lit up giving the image a cool look. I do not like how all the subtitles are the same size and color font. I think it looks to plain. I also want to move some of the Subtitles around to make it look neater and more organized.
