Title Page photo taking and editing 

 

My option was between these two pictures. I ended up picking the one on the right. I used a photo editing app on my phone called photo editor. On the app i made the photo have a darker background than before. I also made the players face more tan so it would pop out from the dark background. Also I made his eyes more blue to make them pop out because the other is in a the black. The last thing I did was make the baseball more white to make one side show more than the other.

When we were taking the picture the room was dark to create a dark background. Then we had someone hold a light at the right angle to make half of his face light up but the other half be dark. I also wanted his jersey to be lit up so we used another light to make that pop out. I took the picture at an angle level with the players face. I did this to make the persons face the center of the picture. We also used a fog machine, basically because we thought it looked cool, we really liked the way it looked and felt like it made the picture look more professional. 

12/2 Color scheme of title page #9

Color scheme 

The player i will be interviewing wears the colors orange and black so the title page will be mainly orange, black and white words. The background of the magazine is really dark so that the player is giving the appearance that he is coming out of the shadow. The dark background also shows the smoke that we used. I am going to do white and orange font on every other Subtitle. The title will be white and orange with a 3-D effect. I did this by making two copies of the title, one was orange and one was white. Then I put them on top of each other offsetting just a little. When I was researching baseball magazines the color scheme they use is normally based on the image on the page. For example if the image is of a player with a red and white jersey on the color scheme of the magazine is normally going to be red and white. This is why in my magazine i used orange and white words, because my image was a player wearing a jersey with orange and black on it.

12/1 Font types #8

Font Types 

For the main title of the magazine i will use "ALEGREYA SANS SC BLACK" size 144. I plan on using this as my title font because it really makes the words pop out to the reader. I also plan on over lapping the words to make them look 3-D. 

For the Sub titles i will use "ALEGREYA SANS SC BOLD" size 80. This font is really good for sub titles because it is a medium size font, not to big but not to small. This font is the smaller version of the font i am using for my title. 

For my slogan and any other small text i will use "Architects Daughter" size 64. This is a smaller font so it is perfect for any small text on the title page. This text also has a special looking design that looks really good to me.
